TV Anhanguera – Central Casting
Headquartered in Goiânia, Brazil TV Anhanguera is a prominent member of Grupo Jaime Câmara – the largest media group in Goiás. Boasting a portfolio of 11 television stations, including 8 in Goiás and 3 in Tocantins, they are a powerful force in the broadcasting industry, affiliated with TV Globo. TV Anhanguera was on a quest for a cutting-edge solution to transform their distribution / contribution architecture and management from a “remote casting” model to the more efficient “central casting” model. This transformation would empower a centralized playout operation (master control) for the stations in Anápolis, Luziânia, Rio Verde, Itumbiara, Jataí, Catalão, and Porangatu, all from the station in Goiânia. They required a state-of-the-art solution with exemplary resilience, robustness, and minimal latency that would support transmissions via both private networks and over the public internet.
TVU Networks G-Link was the perfect match for their ambitious vision; a game-changing solution that became the top choice for seamlessly transmitting TV Anhanguera’s PGM feeds produced in Goiânia to its corresponding regional affiliates within the Jaime Câmara Group. Furthermore, the servers provided for this top-tier solution effortlessly integrate and receive signals from other TV Anhanguera devices like TVU One (“Mochilink”) and TVU Mlink. TVU G-Link is an internet-based solution for point-to-point live transmission that provides an affordable way for bidirectional sharing of live video between two locations. Designed to work over commodity internet, TVU G-Link can use either public internet or a private network to send and deliver HD video. The TVU Server is the primary hardware component of TVU G-Link. With a G-Link software license, two servers are able to send and receive a broadcast quality video feed to/from each other simultaneously. This G-link system (comprised of a TVU Server with TVU G-Link software license) is capable of receiving a variety of video types and formats, including incoming TVU One and TVU Anywhere transmissions, SDI input and external IP sources. The system also outputs in SDI and various IP formats in high resolution and can also send feeds directly to social media platforms such as YouTube and Facebook via an optional IP streaming software license.
Also part of the overall solution for TV Anhanguera, TVU Command Center is an Enterprise Video Management Platform that manages TVU transmitters, receivers, multiple live feeds and input sources, in addition to controlling TVU Grid switching, routing, and video distribution. From Command Center, users can monitor data usage, run analytics, schedule automatic live transmissions and broadcast to any live streaming website.

This project was a key element in facilitating the change in architecture from remote casting to central casting at TV Anhanguera. By moving to a central casting model, enabled by the solution architected by CIS Group, TV Anhanguera was able to realize operational efficiencies, reducing its overall resource consumption and infrastructure costs, while maintaining a high level of reliability and up-time. Additionally, the adoption of this model also enables TV Anhanguera to respond more rapidly to changing requirements in its day-to-day operations.
