When modernizing archive – go all the way. TV Anhanguera chose CIS Group and Mimir
When Celebrating 60 years, TV Globo affiliate TV Anhanguera consists of a a network of 11 stations in Goiás and Tocantins. In a transformative move, they partnered with CIS Group and Mimir to modernize its archival system, enhancing efficiency and security.
Challenge
Like thousands of broadcasters all over the world, TV Anhanguera was facing challenges with an outdated archiving system built on legacy technology. The aging system, in use for more than 15 years, hindered operations and foreshadowed costly data migration to newer LTO generations. To move into the modern era of production, the broadcaster needed a solution to manage, index and efficiently search their 2+ petabytes of data.
Solution
To allow the broadcaster to leverage their rich archive of assets and gain true business value from it, CIS Group worked with Mimir and TV Anhanguera to implement the cloud-based Mimir Media Asset Management (MAM) system. Using elements of Kunnusta.io workflow orchestration, the solution has seamless access to all the power of modern, AIpowered cataloging while it still integrates seamlessly with TV Anhanguera’s legacy archive, optimizing workflows and reducing costs. By moving to a flexible opex-based model, costs are now incurred on usage rather than up-front on a large installation that becomes legacy almost as soon as it enters use.
Moving from struggles with an aging system to the cutting edge of media asset management in Brazil, the new system enhances TV Anhanguera’s archiving process with AI services like speech-to-text, automatic translation, and facial recognition.
